Created when fleshcraft was in its infancy, the Mongrels are the most numerous of Par'dis' artificial protectors.

Stitched together from remains of the dead, the Mongrels were once a revered art of allowing a deceased family member to continue serving their house and family as an elder, teacher and guardian.

Upon the near-extermination of the Kalashmi dynasty, this practice has fallen into decline at the hands of Prabir Gupta, who defiled the process resulting in lobotomized, cantankerous monsters; a mockery of such once-noble guardians.

His continued irreverant innovations paved the way for the more specialized Rams and Huntsmen and many a Mongrel fears that their kind are growing obsolete, taking out their frustrations on the very humans who they are tasked with protecting.

Whilst they may not possess the unstoppable power of the Ram or the agility of the Huntsmen, a single Mongrel is still a 400-pound juggernaut of muscle and as a result remain popular amidst the lesser merchant houses who cannot afford more 'modern' protectors.
