The Streets of Pardis - Commissioned from dinodog by binkibonsai The Streets of Pardis - Commissioned from dinodog by binkibonsai
A piece I commissioned from the talented dinodog (www.dinodog.deviantart.com) depicting the central marketplace in the trading city of Pardis for my homemade role-playing game setting.

It was worth every penny.

The city of Pardis and all its inhabitants are part of a unique world inspired by the old D&D setting Al'Qadim and Medinaat Al Salam and the Ivory Kingdoms from AEG's Legend of the Burning Sands. A hobby of mine; sometimes I run a campaign in my free time and it helps to have spare settings handy.

For those who have been following my work and the story...
In the picture you can also see Sati checking a merchant's fabric against her skin whilst Sakhmet smiles and indulges her girlish fancies. Despite Sati being a regicidal supervillainess and Sakhmet being an artificially-created protector of the kingdom, the two of them take time off their busy schedules to do normal couple stuff. ^_^

The city of Pardis created and written by me
Painting by dinodog

To all who faved this piece:

I'm typing this out because there were waaayyy too many faves to acknowledge personally (Especially on a shitty Malaysian connection), so I'd like to let you all know that this environmental was all thanks to the genius of Dinodog
( www.dinodog.deviantart.com ), an up and coming game design concept artist here in Malaysia.

If you've the time, please drop by his profile and let him know how much you love the piece.

I have no idea how the prints function works.

Any idea how to set up the option?

I... don't really know. If the painting is too small or has unproper format, you can't enable print with it. I guess it should be big enough and have dimensions close to poster.
Though dimensions is not a problem, as far as I know (I work in printing industry).

I guess the thing is it's too long and "thin"... I could have make it myself, if not the watermark... oh, well, I can't and so be it.

I flat out love this pic. I can't get enough of the buildings here, since the story I'm writing on now has an eastern influence and will have buildings much like the ones you see here. In fact, Pardis might fit in nicely in the campaign setting of the story.

Well, i'm glad it inspires you. I'm working on turning Pardis into its own world and system with a refined system based on the mechanics of 4e and Legend of the 5 Rings. We're hoping to finish a manual sometime by mid to end of next year. Wish us luck :)
