Visit Malaysia 2020

2020; the year in which my country's great leaders claimed would herald in a golden age of tourism and societal progress, bringing Malaysia to the status of a prosperous and developed first world nation...

...And what a job they've done, with electoral gerrymandering, abusive speeches directed at minorities (Apa lagi Cina mahu?!... Said our PRIME MINISTER!), opening racially-exclusive shopping malls (as vengeance for one of their own being nabbed for stealing a handphone), passing lighter sentences on racial-supremacist groups and adolescent biker gangs (when not ignoring their crimes completely), jailing opposition politicians whenever elections draw near and who can forget our nation's beloved leader publicly stating that we have much to learn from ISIS!

Ah, what a fine nation we live in, and to herald in this amazing golden age, we have our national tourism logo; Visit Malaysia 2020!

...Wot? Oh, silly me. It seems I've been misspelling the name of my homeland for over thirty years.
